Carol's Fabulous Finish

Wow what a beautiful and extremely fabulous finished quilt this is!
Our Carol has spent hours and hours making it...She's used a mixture of Moda Flannels and a few wool fabrics alongside various other quilting cottons.

Variegated King Tut threads for quilting and the wonderful Faux Piped Binding sets it all off a treat. Toot toot toot Our Carol... you will love having this lap quilt to keep you warm I'm sure... Did you take it on your cruise? ha ha ha

A perfectly co-ordinating and very much fun, backing fabric.

Sock Knitting Workshop

All seven ladies enjoyed a fun workshop. Anjie Nuttie is a very patient teacher and even with all the different knitting levels, lots of progress was made. Obviously it's impossible to finish a sock in one day, so more workshops will be planned.
Everyone went home very happy with the fruits of their labours... and a bit of homework!

We had crochet for beginners on the other side of the room but I'm afraid I neglected to take pictures....

Bank Holiday Monday

Just to let you know that my shop will be open today, Saturday.
but closed only on
Monday 26th August as it's a Bank Holiday.
Open as normal for all other days.

What are you planning for the long weekend?
I'm afraid good weather has been forecast so we might feel the need to do garden chores but the plan in my mind... is to play in Quilty Quarters, I have a retreat to get ready for.

If you wouldn't mind, I'd like you to take note please...
My shop will be closed on and from
Wednesday 25th September until we return to normal from Monday 30th September.
I'm not going to apologise either, ha ha ha

Quilty pictures should be appearing here over the log weekend... But no promises!

Fabulous And Finished

Lynda and Nuttie have been busy, not one fabulous and finished project, but two. Each one made with the same method the yet they look completely different. They have been made with the thinnest of fabric strips and Quilt-As-You-Go onto foam interfacing, (Bosal's In R Form, but any would work) Toot toot toot etty-Toot ladies

Sporty Sue wanted bright and wooowha did do she achieve bright!! A Layer cake of Kaffe Fassett fabrics started this whole thing off. Sue didn't want to cut the bits too small so decided to make Giant Pinwheel blocks. The project was a bit long and skinny and Sue decided she needed 20 inch bordes... step up the scrumptious Art Gallery Solids, co-ordinated with black and white dots...

This is the back, so completely different, isn't it fun!! Apartment joining is pleasing a lot of my customers. You are going to see lots more large quilts made this way... it is so do-a-bubble. Toot toot toot Sporty Sue, It is a splendid example of a fabulous and finished quilt.

It doesn't get any more unique than Pleasing Your Very Own Self.
Start with an idea for a lovely young person and fly!!! This quilt has been made without a pattern and with each step being decided along the way. Gail has really enjoyed making it, even the hand pieced hexagons for the balls, which have been stuffed (Trapunto style) for added WOW

The back has been personalised too. Quilted by stitching around the balls and adding little bounce lines... very arty farty. There are squiggles of grass to anchor any open areas without spoiling the match, ha! Toot toot toot Gail, it's a truly fabulous finish... and this quilt has not been near Gail's garage quarantine area!!

Sandwiches & Advertising!

This is Christabelle's Bear sandwich. From the book Happy Quilts, which I can't recommend enough... it's not often that you get a book that has a quilt you want to make on almost every page! I have a few copies in my shop. Christabelle has added a lot of extra, quite beautiful details too.

For a quick finish this panel fits the bill, available in my shop of course... It's 90cm wide, most pre-printed panels are 60cm wide so we usually need to add some kinds of borders to get them wide enough. It's sandwiched and ready for quilting, rather licketty-split-ly!
