Fabulous And Finished

Sheila made this cushion for an elderly lady who lives in a home. She had given a pile of little triangles already folded to Sheila, knowing that she does Patchwork, and now that lucky lady, Betty, can have them all back... what a fabulous gifting circle!!! Toot toot toot Sheila.

Luna Twerly has finished all four of her quilted cushions... making a full set, along with the fabulous quilt she recently made. Toot toot toot toot Luna, one toot for each fabulous and finished cushion with concealed zips in the back of every one.

Fiona Too made this little quilt for her baby granddaughter... It 's one of the About A Boy panels from Henry Glass... you know... girls love all the things in these pictures too... maybe they should have called it About A Kiddo!!! Toot toot toot Fiona, a fabulous finish!

Jean Bean is on fire this year... she has to be as the babies are popping into this world at an alarming rate and Jean has to keep up with the quilt making! This beautiful, and rather fabulous, quilt is ready for tooting...

Toot toot toot Jean Bean... Lana will love her play mat for sure.

I wasn't kidding around with you...
Jean has already started a quilt for the next bay!!
Go Beano!!!

Waving At You!!!

I am still about...
Been busy with real life lately, unfortunately for my blog, that will all get more time consuming very soon, at least from now and all through March.
There's an important medical operation (not mine)
There's a baby coming (not me, but will be mine!)
There's a sewing retreat very, very soon too!!!
And to put a cherry on top... there's a JURY  DUTY Summons!!! .... like I have time to fit that in.
Shop life....?
Trade show yesterday....
Oooooh my goodness, excited with goosebumps....
I ordered a surprise because I couldn't come home without it!!

I will be back.... Have a lovely week

Stitching News

Norma has been to collect her beautiful Batik Hidden Wells quilt back from the Long Arm quilter. There's just the binding to be done before we get to give a fabulous and finished, tooting, fanfare

Lorna made this housey block quilt using a pattern from a magazine and a Layer Cake from Moda. Borders and backing have been chosen too.

All Day Di was inspired watching me cut up a large pile of T-shirts on our Sunday Sew Day so she arrived for class last week with her very own large pile...

All cut up and designs measured, which takes longer than you would think... We played about with the possibilities for the lay out and chose the sashing fabric...

Jeannette Dilly joined in with Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt and this is the fruits of her labours. Absolutely fabulous!! Jeannette hasn't quite decided what to do next so she needs a little more thinking time... to border or not to border?

Our Carol made up this fabulous design and had enough fabric left over to make a great backing too. It's all ready to be sandwiched and quilted.

Gail finished her lovely cushion, quilted and all... Zip installed in the back etc... now she decided to make another, smaller but perfectly co-ordinated.

I'm having a bit of a job to keep up and 'on top' of everything, you probably noticed by the lack of posts and the last two cheating posts with just photos and no wise words from my very good self...
It is what it is though...
I am trying to be healthy/healthier and it takes a long lot of my time to shop, peel and cook all those blooming veggies... and run (I lie... I mean walk fast!) around the block!!
Normal blogging may resume soon... then again, it might not be soon! ha

Lou Lou started this quilt a year ago... like lots of us, she has no idea why she didn't finish it then. Now though, it is almost quilted and you can just see that the binding is in the building!!

Luna Twerly proudly held up this fabulous and finished lap quilt. She used two Charm Packs and a Moda Bella Solid green. Beautiful fabric chosen for the border is also on the back. Luna's making cushions to match too. Toot toot toot Luna Twerly.

Fiona Too wanted to try something different... this is a great quilting design to get you curving!! Gentle wavy lines... drawing them fist is allowed and they don't have to be perfectly even to look fabulous. Others will try it now, Fiona has inspired!

Enid is loving her project. She smiles so happily as she's working on it, loving the flowers, loving her beautiful Batik fabrics and the lovely colours...
Don't you love it, when you love it!!!

Stitching News

We had a wonderful Sunday Sewing Patchwork Party this last weekend. It's such a lot of fun to sew and natter and plot and plan in a large group... and have your lunch prepared for you! I swooshed around the lovely Checkley Village Hall for you, taking a few pictures of what some of the ladies were working on...

Jean Bean was appliqueing letters for her gifting quilt backing

Lynda finished her piano keys and yes we did note how perfectly co-ordinated she dressed!

PM Pam finished one of a set she's making, the new 3-Piece will need new throws

Mrs. Merlot spent her day quilting the fairies

PM Pams blocks for the other sofa throws in the set

Sporty Sue worked on her Split Hour Glass blocks

I started work on a commissioned T-Shirt quilt... dreadful fabrics!!

New Sue made more giant pinwheel blocks

Loulou was making pinwheel blocks too, but smaller

There's always someone working on festive projects, Longport Lynda!

Fran Cupcake loves to make little embellished pouches

Farmer Lynda, two at one time...

Kate's Lynda wrapped a cord ready to make a pot.

Annbacan worked on a family request, a festive table topper

Maggie brought several projects and did a bit on all.

Jenny Barlaston made premature baby quilts and little notebook covers

Queen Jacquie had a lovely day quilting her daisies

All Day Di blanket stitched and quilted her snowman snowflake

Christine continued with her Pineapple blocks

Sue worked on a few things, like this embroidery

Our Carol made a Muppet!
No, I jest... it's a ballerina from the shopping channel.

So that's just a little insite of our projects. Evidently some projects were missed by my perfect purple camera, hey ho....
The next Sunday Sewing Patchwork Party at Checkley Village Hall will be on 22nd April. 9:30am - 4:30pm but we have a long retreat to look forward to before then...
Can we have too much fun?
I will let you know if it ever becomes too much fun!!!
