Quilty Quarters

I was very disappointed when I finished this wall hanging. I had concentrated on getting the binding right on the edge of the triangle points and had pulled it a little bit too much so that when I hung the quilt, the bottom curled up and cocked out a bit. Obviously, I was going to have to unpick the binding and start over again... but I didn't want to, I still don't want to... so it would never have been sorted out... I read somewhere about 'blocking' quilts, to get them all squared up and flat... that's what I am trying this weekend. Here the quilt is pinned to my carpet, it's been spritzzled (new word? ha ha ha) with cold water and it is drying... hopefully, completely flat... let's see when I get it up tomorrow.
There's been a bit of progress with these lovely scrappy blocks too.... as you can see, they have multiplied... It's going to be bigger than the original plan, these floral fabrics are not 'me' at all ... but, something has come over me, I love 'em in this setting... I keep popping into the Quilty Quarters to have a moment or two admiring how it's coming along... I'm Pleasing My Self ....
Lately, I've been showing the Quilt Cave ladies how to cut multiple fabrics with exactly the same design.... we started off with 4 layers for the 4-Patch Posie and on Wednesday this week I demonstrated cutting 8 layers for a kaleidoscope block. Don't you just love the background fabric? I do and, really and truthfully... that's all that matters eh!

Your wallhanging is stunning. As I started to read about the curled corners I was thinking you need to block it...sounds like you came to the same conclusion. :o)

I wonder if the blocking doesn't work if you have enough room around the edge (and more binding fabric) to just carefully cut that binding off and redo it. I think that would be easier than picking all of that out. It is a cute wall hanging, and I'm betting the blocking will work. I really love your scrappy blocks, too.

What a lovely hanging - I hope you attempt at blocking works! Happy Quilting!
