We started the morning looking like a rummage sale in a church hall! These are fabrics donated for us to make charity quilts. We were selling some of them to raise money to buy the threads and batting... it was fun.
Sofia quilting her second twin baby quilt (and loving the Bernina!)
Arabela was making a quilt cover and using fusible applique to write her sons' name on it.
Ann continues to work on her Irish Chain quilt. This is a huge project and is only Ann's second quilt.
Ursula was putting binding on her log cabin christmas wreath.
This is Alexia, Arabela's baby... loving us quilters visiting with her, talking that strange "boo boo booo doo doo dee dee" thing that we all seem to do to babies! That's me in the background drawing diagonal lines on the squares for Ana.
This is me showing Therese how to pull threads through to the top of her work, this helps keep things very neat on the back.... birds nests of thread are difficult to sort out
Ann, Ursula and Irene, who has almost finished the 90 "square in a square" blocks now.
Sofia asked everyone for the recipies of food they took for our Pot Luck feast. She gets 3 times the value from these sewing days... quilting, recipies and English conversation practice!
Sally made these Pineapple Blossom blocks with fabrics from our fabric rummage sale.
Ana was working on the Pineapple Blossom project too. After making a few blocks, she agreed that it is a very easy method that looks very complicated in the finished quilt.
The next All Day Sewing day will be on Thursday 20th November followed by a Sunday Sewday on the 23rd. Check the Quilt Cave Calendar for more dates.
