Stitching News

One lay out experiment.
Lovely Lyn had started a new project last week. Having now made quite a few of her chosen blocks, we began to play with secondary patterns.... that's a pattern that you might not have thought about that appears when you put the blocks together, it's a very cool game!

Helen finished doing the free motion quilting on her grandmothers Huge Hexagon Quilt. She trimmed the crusts off and had enough backing fabric to turn it over to the front for the binding. Not the way Helen normally does it but it's how her Grandmother had it done in the beginning.
Polish you fanfare trumpets won't you please... it's almost ready for tooting!

Lacey Ann added the last two triangles to her ever growing quilt.  Ann's only just noticed how big the quilting job is going to be as it measures well over 90"!

Marisabel found a pattern in a magazine a few moths ago. She purchased stunning fabrics with which to make the quilt then... sat on them until she had finished another project... now that's 'will power'! Look how gorgeous the colours and fabrics are now that she's working on it!!!

And more absolutely gorgeous colours... it's no secret that I,
 personally, love, love
love scrappy quilts...
Wendy is on a mission to use up all of her scraps and the results are turning out nothing short of delicious!
This is the block Lovely Lyn was making.
It's taken from Marsha McCloskey's Block Party book which is brilliant showing the different effects you can achieve by changing the placement of your light, medium and darker fabrics.
