Stitching News

Starting off with a Toot Toot Toot for Sami's finished Baby play mat (quilt). She had purchased the fabrics on line and came to class to pick up the basics of quilt making, and pick up she did. The beige coloured fabric is very soft linen, luxurious indeed. Sami made a cushion with her left over fabrics too.

Sheila's recycling... the Santa block you see is, or should I say was, one block in a quilt with other Santas. The quilt was no longer needed so Sheila pulled it apart and will use all of the googley-eyed Santa applique blocks as centres for advent Calendar quilts... great idea eh!

My Mum Gwynneth had all of these little bonus half square triangle blocks left over from making her latest quilt because she double stitched each seam, see this tutorial. She spent time trimming them down and joining them together to make the front and back of a very useful tote bag

That is a cute play quilt. And what a great tote bag -- those are some small HST's!
