Stitching News, With Tooting

Giggly Gillian finished her cute little Cathedral Window cushion. She said that she wasn't too happy with her 'junctions'... the fabric she used was very stiff... she had pre-washed it but still it remained a little too firm really. She has plans to do another Cathedral Window project but will use a much softer base fabric... like the kind I sell in my very own shop maybe? Thank goodness for fabric glue... Gillian covered her 'junctions' with pretty jewels
Just Jan finished her  lovely Yellow And Grey quilt... toot toot toot.
This is an original design called... "Make it up as I go", he he he, it's not really but that's a clue to how the quilt happened.... good result eh!
Christabelle, intrigued with the woven effects achieved by clever fabric placement, found this pattern in a magazine and wanted to try it. It is quite lovely but... finished, it turned out a little too large for a cushion.
Christabelle decided to make this one into a wall hanging.
Then she made the same pattern again.
So that the cushion, for gifting of course, could be made to the right size, Christabelle gave the block a different border, clever, simple and perfect!... lots of beeeeeeaauuuuutiful Batik fabric is available in my very own quilt shop...
Inspired by one of the quilts in a recent Fabrications magazine, basically it's the good old Railfence pattern but each centre strip in the block has three HST's. Gail gathered her Bonus Half Square Triangles and set about using up the left over fabric from her Lilly's Colours quilt...  Great idea isn't it?
Monday Sheila has been fighting a bit of illness for the last few weeks. She wanted to sew but hadn't the energy to think too much... Quick Table Toppers to the rescue!!! She managed 5 and more are planned... look out ladies... the record could be about to be broken. Chris The Foot made 18 so far! She holds the candle, for now!
