Fabulous And Finished

Sheila brought in her fabulous and finished, folded, 3D patchwork cushion.
A rather stunning cushion it is too! All fabrics are from my very own shop, but I bet you guessed that already. Toot toot toot Sheila and thank you for agreeing to give us a workshop in July to make one for our very own selves!

Workshop With Simon Henry

All photos were taken at approximately 3 o'clock, so you can see, the ladies got loads done. Simon broke the methods down into easy little segments... Another great workshop day, thank you Simon!

Stitching News

Damm Julie purchased this fairy fabric from the Uttoxeter quilt show recently and, in just one day, her quilt top was finished!

Josie is working on this cat project at the very same time as her Jack Russell quilt. She's using quite a few different goodies from her stash of craft fabrics, collected over the years... pre quilting.
Caron wanted to learn something new. I find most people are impressed with the Ohio Star the very first time they make one... it's the hour glass blocks that do it, a very clever method... true to my expectations... Caron was chuffed with her block.

Time For Tooting

Christabelle finished another fabulous cushion for gifting.
This pattern is made from the 5 Minute Block book, there are such a lot of lovely ideas in the book, making it great value. See Chris's quilting? beautiful!
PM Pam made this lovely, large, floor cushion for Jack, it's going to be his favourite pillow, you can imagine that, can't you?
I wonder whether Pam is feeing her 'Cushion Queen' title slipping away?
he he he... Christabelle says it won't.
This is the back of PM Pam's Hunter's Star quilt...
fabulous, finished and ready for using! Yes... I think Pam is keeping this one!
Taadaaa... the front. One block, The Hunter's Star.
Two fabrics, plus that clever little blue inner border of course...
A block that looks very tricky to make though it's easy...
when you know how... Pam knows how!
Toot toot toot ladies, for your fabulous and finished projects.

Diamonds In The Sky, A Tula Pink Kit

Finished, fabulous and totally toot-toot-able!!
Angela popped in to my very own quilt shop one day last week... and when she produced this beauty from her bag, we all had to breath in for 10 minutes... at least 10 minutes!... then we let out our "WOW"'s

Wow... wow, wow!
Of course I had to get a close up...
Angela found that the kits didn't have quite enough of one of the colours so she purchased a charm pack to keep the pattern just the way she wanted it.
With the left overs she got creative to make a fabulous backing...
Let's just "WOW"... one more time... he he he
I have more kits in stock... might you be tempted?

Stitching News

Princess Jackie sandwiched her fabulous Feathered Star quilt.
She hasn't quite made her mind up about what this project will be when it's finished... no rush there, if Jackie decides to make it larger we can do it with the apartment method!
Gail finished quilting the centre of her Jacob's Ladder quilt. She followed the lines of the patchwork and it made the pattern pop beautifully. A little Stitching-In-The-Ditch was called for on the borders but we find that the very, popular Ditch Hopping, does just as well... he he he
Shirley Lerly recently finished her stunning and quite large Stack-n-Whack Kaleidoscope quilt. She's decided to make a few smaller projects next... The Dresden Plate cushions have been ever so popular with everyone, including Lerly! She chose lovely bright and happy colours.
Just Jan has a tiny little picture of a Jelly Roll quilt to refer to for her current project. First she chose her fabrics, then she sliced them up into two and a half inch strips... just like a Jelly Roll! She sketched a few blocks onto squared paper and then proceeded to make them up... looking good eh!
Jean Bean finished her Batik Beauty quilt just in time for the quilt show at Uttoxeter recently... now she decided to pull her Stargazy Daizies out from storage... these were started at a workshop last year and it's lovely to see them being made again.

Foundation Paper Piecing

We made our very own forest! Oh how the ladies have laughed... all day.

Here's a closer look...

Jenny Barlaston's 'Foundation Paper Piecing For Beginners' workshop will be repeated... if you missed it, that should make you happy! I will confirm dates with Jenny... once she feels she's recovered enough from today!

Time For Tooting

Krafty Karen's Dresden Plate Cushion, number two made her just as happy as completing the first cushion, especially the successful putting in of a zip!
Toot toot toot Karen, fabulous and finished!

Tooting for Joan's ever so close to finished bug quilt... there are a few stitches to do on the binding but baby Evie arrived so we won't see this quilt again because it will be gifted.
Morning Judith's toot toot toot.
Crumbs and Mile-a-Minute blocks, even the corner stones... free motion quilting and little appliquéd hearts... just to add a little fun, my lips are sealed Judith!
PM Pam made this lovely bag from one of the books she purchased at the Uttoxeter Quilt Show recently. Lovely and very practical, she says it's for taking to the beach... we don't have one anywhere near here so there must be a holiday plan! Toot toot toot Pam, another beauty.
