Rocheberie Quilt Day

We had a fabulous day with the Rocheberie Schoolhouse Quilters. The day started with tea & coffee with home made cakes, hello-ing, chattering and giggling... as every good quilty day should, in my opinion! he he he
We then had a mini-workshop with Jennie Rayment. She is very well known for her 'Twiddling & Fiddling' which I have never seen before. This is one of the things that I produced, there were three small projects, all done easily with great instruction.... fun.
We stopped for a lunch break when the volume of chatter could be heard for miles... he he he You can always trust quilters to use every chance to natter! he he he
After Lunch we were called to order, a few important announcements then there was 'Show & Tell' .... there were loads of quilts.
I think I am right in that this one was done as a mystery quilt and the lady told us that her quilt didn't look like anyone elses, considering they had all have the same instructions!
I think this was a Linus one, forgive me if I am wrong... can you see there is a little cat in each window... very cute.
This miniature quilt had been made by a lady recovering from a stroke, she wanted to get back to quilting to see whether she could... success!!! she did a lovely job with this, don't you think?
The owner of this quilt told us that she had made it from a Jelly Roll and warned us all to be aware if we purchase them as they look very appealing in the roll but making them up into quilt tops can be very disappointing, she found there wasn't enough variety in colour and had to add other fabrics to it... I think it looks fab!
A lucky grandchild will be receiving this cute bunny quilt sometime soon. You have to look close, the maker quilted little carrots in the border, he he he... well, it amused me!
Some quilts had been made for Linus, in fact, many made for Linus, the ladies whizzed through them very quickly, with there being so many, so it was hard to snap photos, the ones I did get were quite blurred.
This one, so simple yet lovely!

After the Show & Tell we had a presentation by Jennie Rayment.... oh my goodness, I will upload pictures and post about that shortly.....
