These blocks belong to Chris The Foot, they're Chunky Churndash blocks... it's another favourite of mine... super easy to quilt you know. You can find the pattern here from Quiltville. Chris wanted to make something fun to use fabrics she bought recently... just because... no real plan when she bought them, she just loved em... strange lady? NOT! the colours are great aren't they...
Gail spread out her Pineapple Blossom blocks again and continued to stitch the sashing strips. She added a few different fabrics to the mix too. Once again she had it spread out on the stage... all the tables were taken up with us being so busy... twas like a huge party!
Jolly Jo made a start with her appliqué stitching. She's carefully prepared all the units for the centre block so now she gets to build up the picture. She's using the Invisible Machine Appliqué she learned at our Dawn Cameron Dick workshop recently... she used a lot of pins on the brown strip you see in the picture so as to get a fabulous, even curve... it worked too.
Dotty Maureen continues to make great progress with these cube blocks... They're really taking shape now aren't they... lovely bright colours, you can't go wrong with brights for kiddies really can you. Keeping all the components in the right order takes a little concentrating... it does keep Dotty quiet... but not for long!
Maggie is using her Batiks' Jelly Roll to make a Bargello quilt. She made the two strip sets, stitched them into a tube and very carefully prepared them for cutting up!!! ha ha ha... I have to tell you, I don't think anyone can sew a line as straight as Maggie can, she says it's because she had a lot of practice sewing clothes as her profession for millions of years....
That's just a few pictures form our incredibly busy Quilt Cave stitching day... I'll leave the rest for the next post....
We meet again at Caverswall tomorrow, Friday 9th March and on Wednesday next week, 14th March.

I'm glad I found this page. I just discovered bargello quilts and I want to try one and I was wondering if I could use my jelly roll to do so, after all, they are already 2 1/2 inch strips! The batiks are beautiful.
