Stitching News

Sheila's Feathered Star not only had border strips sewn on but it got itself sandwiched and quilted too. She's wanting this project finished and gifted as soon as possibubble... it's not been her favourite from the beginning,
still... it's good to know the things we don't like doing isn't it.
Louise started her second quilt top in Monday's class. It all looked a little confusing until she used coloured pencils on the paper pattern, to keep things in some sort of order. This last class though... something clicked and half of the strips came together easily... OK...I might be exaggerating a little
Louise's quilt was inspired by this one hanging on the classroom wall... My Mum Gwynneth made it from a pattern called Raspberry Swirl which is from a magazine... goodness knows which one, we only have a ripped out page!
Josie declared that she is prepared to be labelled as the Queen Of Fudge... this lady has a great attitude to her work... "So it's not perfect... hey... it'll do, don't worry"... I love it! If Josie's happy, I am happy... this purple number will be a bed runner when it's done.
We have another new recruit in Jo. No Railfence table runner though... she is on a mission to make a quilt for her daughter who chose the fabrics and the order in which they should be put... Jo had everything planned in that little black device... gotta love all this new technology eh... anyway, she was thrilled to have made a 4-Patch unit with such ease and went home with loads of squares cut to make more.
My Mum Gwynneth finished another Linus quilt.
It's hanging in the classroom until the next SPQ meeting and is inspiring folk to try a Jelly Roll quilt for their very own selves... easy to do and no choosing of  fabrics or colours... if that's what you like... go for it!
We love the quilting too! toot toot toot Mother Duck, it's fabulous and finished.
