And There's Hand Stitching...

It's not often that I have hand stitching news.... most of us, those who come to my classes and workshops, seem to prefer sewing by machine really... but here, for a little treat and a change... a hand stitching report...
I guess there's nothing quite like having an accident and needing a hip replacement to keep you from your sewing machine for a day or two eh? That's what happened to our Sheila. She says she was going 'nuts' without her stitching and the only thing for it was to get out the old needle and thread to make beauties like this...
It's obvious that Our Sheila has had plenty of practice in the past with hand stitching... just look at this picture of the back of her work... neat-neat-etty-neat!!
The designs are from this beautiful book by Edyta Sitar
They are lovely, every design... perfect for a wall calendar, and I do believe Sheila will be making most, if not all of them...
I'm not sure whether they will be all hand stitched though
Brenda Barbara had to stop her very own self from bringing her sewing machine to class so that all she could do was hand stitch...
"I want it done for this next Christmas" she declared.
She got loads done by the end of the day too.
Milly had played with her sewing machine for most of the day and had achieved her goal so, packed it all away. Lick-etty Split she produced her beautiful Hexagon project so that she could do a little more of her hand quilting...
