AJ (Angela that's not me) made her quilt sandwich, once again the Bank House Hotel was good enough to allow us to use the banquet suit to do it. AJ decided on the quilting design, stitched a few rows then placed it in her homework bag... she had another project that she was eager to start.
Jenni spent the day finishing cutting all the pieces for her Chunky Churndash lap quilt, they will all be a mixture of this burnt orange colour, toasty! We popped up to the Craft Locker to buy the fabrics for the hour glass blocks, my ladies get 10% discount on fabrics there, thank you Simone... wooohooo... they (the hour glass blocks) are also cut now ready for a stitching marathon on Jenni's lovely Bernina Baby.
Messy Maureen continues working on her Chinese Coin quilt. She treated herself to a new rotary blade, what a treat it is to have a new blade, you don't realise how much you struggle 'till you get a super sharp new one do you?
AJ was itching to start this Christmas wall hanging. She also popped up to the Craft Locker with us, just for the background... well that's what she went for, she came back with new backing and border fabric too! ha ha ha.
Giggly Gillian will start this project next week too, she fancied making something small and quick before she starts her next big job.
Gillian was very impressed with her Bernina walking foot, she used the guide bars to finish quilting the borders of her "Purrrrfect" cat quilt, she prepared the binding and will stitch it on next time...
This quilt is Gillian's first... WOW eh! It's mostly hand pieced and all hand quilted! What lovely blocks.... and fabulous colours.
Here's a closer look at a few of the blocks...
this is Gillian's favourite, I can see why, the blue is a brilliant addition, don't you think....
I think Gillian said that she made this about 6 years ago, love it!
We meet again at Uttoxeter next Tuesday 27th July, 10am - 3pm.
